As Radio.com reported last week, Phoenix is most definitely working with R. Kelly. And you can hear the collaboration for yourself right now.

Kelly adds his Chi-town swagger to the remix of the French band’s song “Trying To Be Cool” off their album, Bankrupt. Listen below.

While Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars sings about “mint julep testosterone,” Kellz details a regular night out for him.

“I’m gonna walk up in the club/ I’m gonna holler at the honeys/ Im’a have a few laughs, take a few shots and throw a little money.”

That sounds pretty cool to us.

Phoenix and R. Kelly first teamed up at this year’s Coachella when the R&B singer joined them onstage for a few songs, something that came together kind of last minute.

The idea came to us one week before the show, very late,” guitarist Christian Mazzalai told Radio.com. “So we created a mash-up between our music and his music. We sent it to him and he said yes. The funny part is he arrived late so we didn’t see him before. We met him onstage. We didn’t rehearse so there was a beautiful tension.”
