Katy Perry has some new music coming, according to a golden semi-truck that was spotted on the streets yesterday (July 29).

The singer got inventive when it  came to announcing her new album, Prism which drops October 22. Instead of putting out a formal press release, she got a truck to do the talking.

Perry sent a golden semi-truck out onto the streets of Los Angeles with the album title and release date written on it in big black letters. She then let her fans tweet the big news.

Adam Lambert was actually one of the first to notice the truck, sharing the news of Perry’s upcoming song with his over 2 million followers.

Back in April, Perry hinted at what fans might expect for her follow-up to 2010′s Teenage Dream including more inspirational anthems à la “Firework,” familiar list of collaborators including Max Martin (“Teenage Dream,” “The One That Got Away”) and Bonnie McKee (“Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), “California Gurls”) and maybe a break-up anthem or two.

For those who don’t live in L.A., Perry says you still have a chance to see the truck, tweeting that the golden vehicle will be making other stops around the country. So keep your eyes peeled.

Fans still have to wait a few months for Perry’s new album, but they can hear her singing voice in the end credits of The Smurfs 2, out July 31. The singer, who is the voice of Smurfette, appears on Britney Spears’ Smurftastic song, “Ooh La La,” featured on the movie’s soundtrack.
