Britney Spears ‘Ooh La La’ Video Is A Commercial For ‘The Smurfs 2’
Britney Spears‘ latest single “Ooh La La,” which will be featured in The Smurfs 2 movie, apparently holds special significance to the singer.
“I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans ever,” Spears explained in a statement upon the song’s official release last month. “I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they’ll think it’s Smurftastic!”
Spears took it one step further with the song’s new music video, released this afternoon (July 10). It starts with Spears and her two sons, Jayden James and Sean, sitting in a movie theater ready to watch The Smurfs 2.
“Check this out, this is the best part right here!” Spears says right before she gets zapped into the film. Meanwhile, her sons look on and wave as she is transported on screen and hangs out with the Smurfs.
“You don’t have to look like a movie star/Ooh I think you’re good just the way you are,” she sings as clips of the film are displayed. The video was directed by Marc Klasfeld, who’s helmed clips for Katy Perry, Bon Jovi, Jay-Z, Foo Fighters and many more. Spears has not released a video since 2011’s “Criminal,” off Femme Fatale.
The song — written by Dr. Luke, Ammo, Cirkut, Bonnie McKee, J Kash, Lola Blanc and Fransisca Hall — will be featured in the film’s end credits. Smurfs 2 opens July 31.
