In a nonsensical twist appropriately comical for the “Thrift Shop” duo, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis announced their U.S. tour Monday (June 24) with a video filmed in Germany.

“Hello world!” rapper Macklemore says in the video. “This is Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. And we thought that we need to announce our tour. It needs to be done. We need to do it. So what better place to go to announce our U.S. tour than Germany!”

Te two artists then lead fans around a German town where they eat pretzels, show off the sights, and spill the details on the jaunt, which kicks off October 22 in Portland, Oregon. The tour then wraps up December 12 in the pair’s hometown of Seattle, Washington.

They also get a hand from some passersby who act as stand-ins for the tour openers as they announce them: Talib Kweli and Big K.R.I.T.

The ticket pre-sale starts Tuesday (June 25) on Macklemore’s website, with general on-sale beginning June 28. Of course, Mack encourages viewers to get their hands on tickets as soon as possible, lamenting the fate fans face when they wait too long to purchase.

“You don’t want to be that person,” he says in the video. “You don’t want to be that guy. You know, that person who waits until the last minute, and then has to deal with this guy: the scalper.”

The tour’s arena-sized venues will likely provide ample opportunity for fans to get their hands on tickets. Be warned, though, that the duo has sold out a chunk of their current overseas dates already.
