In the case of Keyshawn Johnson vs. Justin Bieber, the Biebs may be coming out on top, at least this time around.

Odd Future leader and Bieber pal Tyler, the Creator admitted to driving the pop star’s car when it was spotted and subsequently tailed by former NFL star Johnson last Monday (May 27), after Johnson observed the Ferrari speeding recklessly through a 25-mph zone near Bieber’s home in Calabasas, Calif., near Los Angeles. Police were contacted after the incident and authorities attempted to speak with Bieber, who maintained his innocence in the situation.

The rapper had purportedly been with Bieber during the incident, with a source saying the next morning that it actually had been Tyler, not Bieber, behind the wheel of the car.

Turns out that source was correct. “That Was Me Behind The Wheel Of Justin’s Vehicle,” Tyler tweeted Saturday (June 1). “Don’t Blame Him. People Are Actually Evil Swearing Up And Down That It Was Who It Wasn’t.”

Bieber was quick to thank his friend, tweeting back his thanks, though assuring Tyler that this was nothing new, all the while also discounting a rumor that he has a baby with a 27-year-old Swedish woman. Bieber replied to Tyler: “All good buddy. I deal with this everyday. Thanks though. The baby ain’t mine either.”

Johnson maintains that it was Bieber driving the car, adding now that Bieber switched seats with an African-American passenger, whom Johnson ID’ed as rapper Lil Twist, when they pulled into Bieber’s driveway.

No word on what kind of charges, if any, could be levied against Tyler or Bieber, since it was his car. Authorities were apparently considering a misdemeanor charge for reckless driving after multiple sources besides Johnson contacted the police to report the car speeding through Calabasas.

While Bieber may be off the hook this time, it isn’t the first time he’s been in the news for purported reckless driving. In March, Los Angeles County was apparently considering action after numerous complaints that Bieber was speeding through the neighborhood at speeds reaching 100 mph and even fought with his neighbors concerning the speeding. He was also cited for speeding on a Los Angeles freeway last July. All things considered, the pop star may still be urged to slow it down around his home, lest Keyshawn Johnson be on the prowl again.
