Miley Cyrus announced that she’d be releasing her new single “We Can’t Stop” two weeks ago and said it was an anthem for her fans.

“I feel like this song really is for them and how I feel—that I can’t stop and I’m going to be who I am and they should be who they are and that they can’t stop and no one can stop us,” she said. “It really is an inspiring song for my fans. We don’t care, we can do what we want.”

On the nearly four-minute track, produced by Mike WiLL Made It (Rihanna, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Kelly Rowland), Cyrus tells fans “don’t take nothing from nobody.” She follows her own advice by showcasing a new R&B influenced sound. Listen below.

“To my homegirls here with the big butt/Shakin’ it like we at a strip club/Remember only God can judge ya/Forget the haters ’cause somebody loves ya,” she sings.

Over hip-hop beats, light strokes of the keyboard and distinct guitar distortion she continues.

“It’s our party we can do what we want to/It’s our house we can love who we want to/It’s our song we can sing if we want to/It’s my mouth I can say what I want to.”

Cyrus doesn’t shy away from saying what she wants to. Just last month she shot back at haters on Twitter where she addressed Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez fans who have Tweeted death threats at her.

She added, “We are all friends. Why can’t you all be?”

“We Can’t Stop” comes days after Cyrus and Snoop Lion realeased the video for their duet “Ashtrays And Heartbreaks,” off Snoop’s latest album.

The follow-up to Cyrus’ 2010 release Can’t Be Tamed has not yet been announced.
