Big Boi Injures Left Knee, Reschedules June Tour Dates
Sir Lucious Left Foot’s own left leg may have gotten him in trouble.
Big Boi is forced to reschedule a flurry of dates on his current tour after an injury to his left knee, Billboard reports. The rapper and one-half of OutKast tore his patella while performing at the Summer Camp Fest in Chillicothe, Illinois, on May 26.
A picture posted to Big Boi’s Instagram showed the musician in a wheelchair following knee surgery in Atlanta. “#backoutcheain6weeks,” he added.
At least he seems to be having a decent time during his recovery; he tweeted late last night (May 29) that he was having “ice cream and Percocet,” the latter a painkiller.
Big Boi was on the road promoting his latest album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, released last December. A list of June tour dates affected by the injury will be rescheduled to September.
The news comes just a day after it broke that Big Boi’s partner in Outkast, Andre 3000, had lost his mother, Sharon Benjamin-Hodo, who died in her sleep at age 58.
