Kellie Pickler Wins ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Country music is cleaning up this week on reality TV competitions. This past Sunday, Trace Adkins won All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. And last night (May 21), singer Kellie Pickler took top honors on season 16 of Dancing with the Stars.

Pickler shared her win with her professional dance partner Derek Hough. During Tuesday night’s finale, they were competing against Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy.

When season 16 began, Kellie was one of two country artists on the program. Fellow dancer Wynonna Judd, though, was voted off in April.

Other stars competing this season included actor Andy Dick, figure skating champ Dorothy Hamill, football star Jacoby Jones, and Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman.

Kellie said that her husband, Kyle Jacobs, was moved to tears by his wife’s victory. “I was like, ‘Baby, were you crying?’ And he was like, ‘Oh, I had something in my eye.’ He was so proud.”
