In recent weeks, Ted Nugent has taken to his blog to offer his views on inner-city violence, and to call for a public hanging of the man charged in the Boston Marathon bombing. In his latest post, “The 5-Year Nuge Immigration Plan,” he turns his attention to – you guessed it – immigration reform.

The Nuge says that he would like to offer citizenship to “all legal immigrants who are willing to bust their hump and prove they want to be a glowing, positive asset to America…Those who are willing to apply Herculean effort to become a productive American should have a welcome mat put out in front of them.”

As for anyone who doesn’t meet Nuge’s standards for citizenship, he suggests they be deported to Mexico, without making any distinction for immigrants who did not come from Mexico.

“Everyone else should be forced to vamoose back to Mexico especially the crazy people who want America to become as rotten as the place they escaped,” he wrote. “We don’t need any more bloodsuckers.”

In his post, he details his idea for immigration reform, which he calls “The Nuge Immigration Plan.” He suggests that it should take five years for someone to achieve citizenship.

“Until then,” he writes, “they should be treated like indentured servants, meaning that they have to earn their citizenship.”

To help keep illegal immigrants out of the country, he suggests building a “real full-length, undefeatable [sic] border fence,” and “All illegal men in America” – not women – “should be required to work on building the fence, to be completed in one year. We would pay them minimum wage, provide food and shelter, and provide them English and American history classes at night. Everyone wins.”

Under his plan, only citizens are eligible for “state or federal crack welfare.” And fluency in English is a prerequisite for citizenship, as well as being well versed in U.S. and Constitutional history.

Punishment for crimes and gang membership is strict and final: If a child of an illegal immigrant is found to be a member of a gang, it “Will result in the entire family being sent back to Mexico.” (Again, no mention is made of immigrants from other countries – or perhaps European immigrant families would also be banished to Mexico, whether or not they have roots in that country.)
