AraabMuzik has taken to his Instagram account to let the public know that he is well after being shot in an alleged robbery attempt.

“#Recorvering. I would like to thank everybody that wished me well,” he said via Instagram on Saturday (May 4).”I appreciate all the love from all over the world!! #MVPOFTHEMPC”

The message came with a picture of AraabMuzik sitting up in what is presumably a hospital bed. There are oxygen tubes in his nose; dark shades on his eyes; and an eye-catching watch.

On Thursday (May 2), AraabMuzik’s manager DukeDaGod posted to Instagram a photo of the producer in a hospital bed surrounded by friends and family.

Rapper Avatar Darko (who has worked with AraabMuzik) sent a message on Twitter, suggesting that the artist had been shot for not giving up his possessions during the robbery attempt.

“Rumors have begun to circulate and first and foremost, we want to let everyone know that AraabMUZIK is currently alive and well,” AraabMUZIK’s team said in a statement to Billboard. “He was out in his neighborhood last night with friends and unfortunately the victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is recovering now and police are investigating the crime. We appreciate all the concern and fan support and Araab is looking forward to a speedy recovery and returning to the stage as soon as he can.”

It was not specified where the incident took place.

AraabMuzik first came to prominence in 2006 making beats for such hip-hop outfits as the Diplomats in New York, going on to produce tracks for the likes of 50 Cent, Cam’ron and Capone-N-Noreaga.

He’s also earned much notoriety for his mastery of performing live with an MPC sampler/drum machine, appearing at large-scale music festivals such as Coachella and the upcoming Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, set for June 21-23.
