2014 spring/summer bridal fashion week took place the week of April 15 in New York City, in which top designers like Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta and Monique Lhuillier introduced their latest collections to a world of planning brides-to-be.
Among those brides-to-be are a plethora of singers rocking engagement rings: Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Adele and Brandy, to name a few.
After plowing through the latest looks, we’ve matched up the ladies to the gowns we’d like to see them march down the aisle wearing.
1. Avril Lavigne – Vera Wang – Mermaid Gown
Vera Wang’s looks this season were much edgier than usual, making it perfect for a punk spirit like Lavigne. With a slight frame like hers, Lavigne might be swallowed up by the traditional big dress. We’d love to see her in a form-fitting mermaid look.
2. Kelly Clarkson – Monique Lhuillier – Embellished A-Line Gown
For her first wedding, Clarkson is sure to go with a classic wedding gown, featuring tulle and embellishments. This look from Lhuillier’s collection would compliment her style nicely and matches up with her penchant of late for sheer lace arm and upper body covering on dresses.
3. Brandy – Oscar de la Renta – Structured Trumpet Gown
Brandy has always looked best in structured, tight gowns – like the one she wore to the 2013 BET Honors. Donning this skintight look from de la Renta is sure to suit her curves.
4. Miley Cyrus – Carolina Herrera – Mermaid Dress With Lace And Silver Tinsel
She’s a star who isn’t afraid of being daring and eye-catching with her red carpet looks, so we’d expect the same from her wedding gown. While the silhouette of this gown is traditional, Herrera’s use of lace and silver tinsel as repeated embellishments make it youthful and oh-so-Miley.
5. Hayden Panettiere – Carolina Herrera – A-Line Gown With Chantilly Lace Overlay
Panettiere has no loyalty — she can and has worn every style of gown on the red carpet. This ladylike look from Herrera is not her normal style. She rarely goes with the A-line style, but this lace overlay is a page right out of her Emmy Awards look.
6. Adele – Carolina Herrera – Grecian Dress
This dress would be a bit of a departure for Adele, who never goes low-cut or bare-armed. But with a few modifications like adding a less severe neckline and a shawl over the arms, the long, billowy style with a structured waist would suit her nicely.
7. Ashley Monroe – Marchesa – Empire Waist Gown With Lace Overlay
This country bride-to-be would look great in the v-neck, strappy gown by Marchesa. Add on a wheat bouquet and some hefty jewelry for extra effect and she’s good to go down the aisle.
