Just weeks before the release of his first studio album with Black Sabbath in over three decades, Ozzy Osbourne took to his Facebook page late last night (April 15) to make a shocking admission: he recently relapsed (again) into drug and alcohol abuse.
His message read: “For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an a****** to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober. Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I’m just trying to be a better person. I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period………and my fans. God Bless, Ozzy.”
The message came just hours after Sabbath announced their first North American tour dates of the year. The band kicks things off August 4 at the PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey, August 18 at the Air Canada Center in Toronto, August 24 at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Seattle and September 3 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. Black Sabbath’s new album, 13, is due out June 11.
