G.O.O.D Music pals Pusha-T and Kanye West joined Jay-Z in surprise-releasing new music yesterday, delivering a new song, “Numbers on the Board.”

While Kanye doesn’t appear as a feature on the track, he did head up its production. Ye revealed his excitement Thursday (April 11) afternoon on Twitter.

“Our family Hov brought that real hip hip s*** this morning so me and Pusha wanna keep that feeling going,” West tweeted.

The music is moody and dark, with a nod to Jay-Z’s “Intro: A Million And One Questions/Rhyme No More” from In My Lifetime, Vol. 1. He samples Jay’s lyrics: “Motherf****** can’t rhyme no more/ about crime no more…”

The artistic chemistry between Kanye and Pusha extends to the track’s “no artwork” graphics, which was created by West’s design company, DONDA (See the image on West’s official website.) DONDA was also behind Lil Wayne‘s I Am Not a Human Being II and 2 Chainz‘s Based on a T.R.U. Story.

While Kanye and Pusha-T fans were jamming out to the heavy “Numbers on the Board,” Jay-Z’s Thursday “Open Letter,” sparked controversy.

The song, which addresses criticism of his recent trip to Cuba, came up during a White House press conference. The President’s Press Secretary confirmed that Jay and wife Beyoncé, who were celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary, were fully licensed by the U.S. Treasury to travel to Cuba, and President Obama wasn’t the person who gave the okay.

With Jigga in the clear, he is set to take the stage with Justin Timberlake on tour this summer. The Legends of the Summer tour kicks off July 17th in Toronto and continues through August.

Likewise, Pusha-T will be joining Future’s Pluto tour, traveling throughout the U.S. from May through July.
