Incubus Guitarist Not Working With Pearl Jam After All

Contrary to stories printed here and elsewhere, Incubus guitarist Michael Einziger did not contribute to Pearl Jam’s latest studio recording.

On March 13, Einziger tweeted a photo of himself with girlfriend, Ann Marie Simpson, and Eddie Vedder as seen below.

According to a tweet posted today by Einziger, it was in fact Simpson, an accomplished violinist, who was the one performing in studio with Pearl Jam. Einziger was merely in studio visiting. And, frankly, who wouldn’t hang out with Pearl Jam if given the opportunity?

Steve Rennie, Incubus’ manager, told of Einziger’s breakneck schedule, “With Mike’s work on The Lone Ranger soundtrack with Hans Zimmer or his work with Frank Ocean and so many others, I can barely keep track of him. The guy doesn’t sleep. He eats, sleeps and breaths music.”

Further prodding revealed that Einziger will be contributing his guitar skills live on stage in Miami tonight (March 22). The question is, will he be appearing at one of two major events; Winder Music Conference or the Ultra Music Festival, which can be seen live via webcast beginning at 4 p.m. EST / 1 p.m. PST.
