Proud papa-to-be Michael Bublè is having a little baby boy.
Buble said his wife, actress Luisana Lopilato, who like the new Pontiff is from Argentina, thought it was a sign that her ultrasound revealed the sex of their baby the same day Bergoglio was chosen to lead the Catholic Church. But the Canadian crooner joked that the new Pope, who will now go by the name Francis, will not be his son’s namesake.
“There’s no way we are going to call him Frank,” Buble told the paper. “Even if it did work well for Frank Sinatra.”
The singer first announced the pregnancy last month in a 22-second clip he posted on his website.
Just this week, the Canadian crooner also revealed that he was teaming up with Target for an exclusive deluxe edition of his upcoming album. To Be Loved, out April 23, that would feature three bonus tracks, including a cover of “Be My Baby” by The Ronettes.
But don’t worry, Buble isn’t too busy for his first baby, who’s due this August. The singer told Entertainment Tonight Canada that he rearranged his tour schedule so he’ll be able to spend more time at home.
“I just don’t want to look back and say, ‘God, I should have been there more,’” Bublé explained. “Because I have a feeling that I’ll never look back and say, ‘Jeez, I should have worked more.’”
