You know she’s a huge deal — that Olympics opening ceremony headlining slot performance, the biggest-selling artist in the U.K. for 2012, the songwriting credits for Rihanna and Alicia Keys. But what don’t you know about Emeli Sandé?

When she sat down with, we discovered three things you must know to know Emeli Sandé.

1. She is the other Adele. No really. Her first name is Adele.

“I am Adele Emeli Sandé. And I’d met another Adele in my life until Adele came out,” Sandé laughed. “It was maybe, about four years ago. She’d just won the BRIT [Awards] Critics’ Choice Award. And I kept hearing her name. It was just before I released my first feature on a record and I thought, ‘I should probably pick a different name because I think she’s going to be quite big.’ And looking back now, I think it was a good idea. I feel very happy being Eméli and I feel I have my identity as an artist.”

2. She loves tattoos and really loves Frida Kahlo, who is an artist inspiration to the singer.

“I have Frida Kahlo on my right arm,” Sandé said, lifting her sleeve to show off the tattoo. “I love her being there. You have to have courage as a woman in any kind of creative industry. She inspires me to stay true to who I am and not compromise on that. And put both the beauty and the ugly in what you do, and be very real. I’m a big fan of hers. She guides me and keeps me strong.”

3. She’s already got her next hit songwriting partner picked out.

“I would love to do some writing for [Conor Maynard] because his voice is really wonderful,” Sandé confirmed. “I’d love to just do something with him quite stripped and kind of acoustic. That’s what we spoke about. I think the press back home has taken it that we’re going to do a duet or something, but we’re probably just going to hang out in the studio and see if we can write something.”
